1/29/09 Dinner Party

Tonight was the first of many Cheese and Beer pairings that The Grilled Cheese Club will host.  We were very proud of 3 of the 5 selections we made.  Cheese has a unique way of changing from season to season, month to month, week to week and it is these differences which make pairing such a challenge.  What works great one day, may not work great the next.  The stars mark those pairings which we thought were wonderful.

 

 

Pair #1:  Le Chatelain Camembert with Ommegang’s Witte Beer *

Pair #2:  Winnimere by Jasper Hill with Lindeman’s Frambriose Lambic *

Pair #3:  Quicke’s Farmhouse Cheddar with Arend Tripel Belgian Ale by De Ryck

Pair #4:  Aged Red Leicester with Samuel Adams Chocolate Stout *

Pair #5:  Stilton by Clawson with Terrible by Unibroue
